congratulations!
Congratulations on your engagement!
Please speak to the priest at least six months before your planned date for the wedding. There are both Church and civil arrangements that must be done before any marriage can take place, so that the laws of the Church and of the state are followed, The priest will arrange to see you both and begin the process.
As far as the Church is concerned, we need to know that one or both of you have been baptised in the Catholic Church (or received into it), whether or not you have been confirmed and that there is no reason that you should not be married (for example, you are not closely related to each other or are still bound by any previous marriage). Before any couple may be married, they must undertake a session of preparation so that they understand what marriage is and the commitment they are making.
